Fishy

We had a bad day yesterday.

"Bad" is putting lightly.

It was horrific.

Blood
Crying
Throw up
Lack of sleep
Bad meat in the Lasagna
And one Mommy on the Edge!

And that's not the half of it.

If you don't believe me, just take one look at Jack's face.

This was after he slipped on the wood floor and face-planted, bled all over the place, and showed some amazing tears, which lead to the throwing up. Oh man. Bad day.

But today is a new day!

And I decided we all needed a little treat.

We walk by the fish EVERY time we go to Walmart. And Jack nearly peed his pants today when I said, "Let's get one!"

In fact, his exact words were,

"Are you freakin me out?"

Oh, I am still laughing about that one

He picked a red one, and named it appropriately,

NEMO.

Does anyone actually have a fish NOT named Nemo?

On the way home from the store, Jack told me that "Nemo" loved riding in the cart at the store.
I almost cried it was so cute.

If you want to know where Jack has been today, where he is currently, and probably where he will be for the rest of his life....

Yup, it was love at first sight.

I was thinking the other day that Boston would love having a fish, but I'm afraid it would be dead in a day. I love reading your blog. Your kids are so fun and cute. Hope you guys are doing great.

Poor Jack.... and poor mommy! And good job on the fish! I can't believe how many posts I've missed of yours... it was fun getting caught-up again. Sounds like you're still up to your crazy, busy, fun-mommy ways! :)

I think I remember you giving us a hand-me-down fish. Are you sure you are ready for another fish?

On a side note, Savannah brought home a fish as a prize from a birthday party. The fish lasted 3 hours. I found the fish floating belly up and Savannah with a guilty look as she told me that she pulled off the fish's skin. And then he died. I had to go in the next room to compose myself and when I returned 2 seconds later the fish was gone. She had taken the fish (in her bare hands) and flushed him down the toilet. I am still dry heaving over the incident.

I love Jack! He says the cutest things :) I showed Madison that Jack got a fish and she is SO excited! She told me that she needed to help Jack feed his fish. :)

So cute! I have thought about getting a fish for Will, but I just think about my childhood experience with fish . . . little brother catching them, killing them, and bringing them to my mom so she can cook them for dinner. I think that would be Will's reaction to fish. So to spare myself the trouble of having fish funerals I pass the fish by . . . at least for now. : )

I think I would like a turtle. The fish seem to die way too fast. But what I hear turtles can live way tooooooo long! What a good mom you are!
