Valentines Day

Crazy, but we didn't have school on Valentine's Day. I am not even sure why, but we weren't mad.
Jack LOVES Diary of a Wimpy Kid Books and movies!

I made the girls Princess flip books, and they loved them!

And in case you didn't know, IVY LOVES TIC TACS!

Vince got the usual, the photo book from last year. This year it had 3x as many pages as previous years. Apparently 2013 was our busiest year yet!

After our morning festivities, we went out to jump into the burb to head out to the LEGO Movie.
I started the car, and then it died. I started it again, and then it died.
The Burb was broken.
Good think Daddy has a spare truck in the garage and we didn't miss our movie.

Vince took a long lunch and met us at the movie. So glad he was there to help!

Groundbreaking News

On Monday February 10th we broke ground for the new house.

Back in our old subdivision, 1 house away from our old house.
We couldn't be happier.

It wasn't where planned on going, and it isn't what we planned on building. But things don't always work out as planned, and we are perfectly fine with that.

After two lots ready to be bought, and then taken away due to circumstances out of our control.
Tears, stress, more crying and decisions.

Months later, this lot made sense.
And the house plan made sense too.
It doesn't have a fabric room on the main floor as we planned. With Vince's new business venture we decided to build a regular home and not put money in the fabric business.
It feels so right.

We have been waiting for weeks, then it finally warmed up enough for concrete. 20 degrees.

By Tuesday we had a hole and huge pile of rocks.

And Wednesday we had cement trucks!!!

To say Vince has been busy the last few weeks would be wrong.
He has been CRAZY BUSY!
Such an amazing man. And handsome to boot!

Merging two business
Lost 2 key employees and picking up the slack
A day trip to SLC on a business day for a class to get a license
Re-keying all his business stuff due to untrustworthy ex-employees
New renters for his shop
Moving stuff we were storing at his shop to a storage unit
House plans
Coordinating subs for the house
Taking care of his 4 new commercial renters
Sub zero temps braking every furnace in the Snake River Plain
Wife's suburban blows up
Wifes' Bday & Valentines Day
Up every morning at 5am, and home around 7pm.

Say a prayer that we get through all this!
And that we finish the house before we have to be out of the rental....August 12th!

Valentine's Photo Shoot

While sick with the flu, I decided to make the most of having the kids at home all day long.
You can tell by Ivy's eyes that she was feeling the worst, but they all did a great job.
We took all these pictures for the Grandparent's Valentine's Cards.

Because

Because apparently I have to take a picture of them every Sunday before church.
I just do.

Happy Birthday To Me

I turned 30 this year.
I know, it's an awful cruel joke.

Vince wasn't sure what was worse, the fact that I was no longer in my 20's, or the fact that I specifically asked for a new vacuum and new mop. Have I mentioned how much I HATE the slate floors in the rental house!!!!!! All I wanted was something that would clean them well. Mission accomplished.

Aside from my new cleaning products....Vince took me to dinner and to a chick flick.

He was the only man in the theater, but oddly enough he liked the movie as much as I did.

Got home just in time to put the kids to bed.

And to hear this little lady say, "Mommy, I missed you."

My birthday seemed great.  The perfect way to start this decade of my life.

Then BAAM!!!

Look what I found.

Looks like the kids had a great time with the babysitter.
Really didn't want to start out my 30's with bad luck!
As if I don't feel like they are going to be bad enough!

The Olympics

We were pretty darn excited for the Olympics this year.
I even made the kids shirts.

And I made an EXTREMELY hard quilt for myself.

or for Jack....

This darn South Africa block took me days, and it still ended up not matching up. Oh well.

We still love it!
